“ I enjoy working for Soft Landing and am appreciative to have the opportunity to balance work and study. I feel I am really creating a career for myself ”
Below is a snapshot of some of the team and how working for Soft Landing has positively impacted their lives.
Charley was referred via Warrigal Employment for the Admin Trainee Position with Soft Landing last year. Charley was over the moon to be given the role and have a full-time job. In the first-year Charley excelled, completing her Certificate III in Business ahead of time and now studying her Certificate IV in Business.
“I enjoy working for Soft Landing and am appreciative to have the opportunity to balance work and study. I feel I am really creating a career for myself”.
Jarrod’s journey so far is testament to Soft Landing’s social purpose.
Five years ago, Jarrod started volunteering under the Work for the Dole scheme and he has not looked back. He was offered a traineeship after completing his WfD hours and successfully completed his Certificate II in Waste Management. Jarrod then progressed into full-time employment and worked hard to gain experience across all areas of the business, this did not go unnoticed resulting in Jarrod transitioning in a management position. Jarrod is currently the Bellambi Warehouse Manager and completing his Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
“I never thought I would be studying Management, I see a great future with Soft Landing and am optimistic for what the future holds”.
Josh is employed as a trainee, completing his Certificate II in Waste Management. Prior to joining Soft Landing Josh had a few odd casual jobs, but nothing permanent. Josh looks forward to learning as much as he can and moving forward with his life on both a career and personal level.
“I love being part of the Soft Landing team and the friendships I have made”.
Corey volunteered with Soft Landing back in 2012 and enjoyed the work and the people he met. In 2013 Corey picked up some casual work with another company for six months, but it did not take long for Corey to end up back with Soft Landing. Corey returned in 2014 under a fixed term contract and due to his hard work and commitment transitioned into a permanent full-time position. Corey is happy to have a full-time job and the independence that comes from this.
“I like the fact I have a regular pay packet coming in each week and look forward to learning more and maybe being a Team Leader one day”.
Kiana has been part of the Soft Landing team for six years now, originally employed as an Admin Trainee. Kiana successfully completed her Certificate IV in Business Administration and now works in an Administrative/Logistics Coordination role. Kiana is an invaluable member of the team, the glue that keeps the back end of the business functioning each day.
“I love how no day is the same and I am always inspired by the values of Soft Landing, knowing it does make a difference to people’s lives”
