Below is a snapshot of some of the team and how working for Soft Landing has positively impacted their lives.
Ana is an Admin Trainee and currently completing her Certificate III in Business. Ana commenced in 2017 and is based at the Illawarra site in Bellambi, however supports the Soft Landing team nationally. Ana commenced her studies in Psychology in Brisbane and then ended up relocating to the Illawarra and joined Soft Landing soon after, she is an absolute asset to the team.

Jarrod’s journey so far is testament to Soft Landing’s social purpose.
Five years ago, Jarrod started volunteering under the Work for the Dole scheme and he has not looked back. He was offered a traineeship after completing his WfD hours and successfully completed his Certificate II in Waste Management. Jarrod then progressed into full-time employment and worked hard to gain experience across all areas of the business, this did not go unnoticed resulting in Jarrod transitioning in a management position. Jarrod is currently the Bellambi Warehouse Manager and completing his Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
“I never thought I would be studying Management, I see a great future with Soft Landing and am optimistic for what the future holds”.
Rod commenced with Soft Landing eight years ago. Rod started as a volunteer to help with depression and he is pleased to say that Soft Landing definitely did help. Due to Rod’s commitment and passion he soon was offered employment with Soft Landing as a Cutter. He is now an integral team member and is capable to work across all areas of the business. He attained his Certificate III in Waste Management and looks forward to what the future holds.
“I’ve had a passion for recycling from a young age, my first job at 19 was recycling newspapers and I am proud to continue making an environmental difference. I’m pretty much known as the jack of all trades amongst the Soft Landing team, having experience and knowledge in all areas of the recycling process”.
Corey volunteered with Soft Landing back in 2012 and enjoyed the work and the people he met. In 2013 Corey picked up some casual work with another company for six months, but it did not take long for Corey to end up back with Soft Landing. Corey returned in 2014 under a fixed term contract and due to his hard work and commitment transitioned into a permanent full-time position. Corey is happy to have a full-time job and the independence that comes from this.
“I like the fact I have a regular pay packet coming in each week and look forward to learning more and maybe being a Team Leader one day”.
Kiana has been part of the Soft Landing team for six years now, originally employed as an Admin Trainee. Kiana successfully completed her Certificate IV in Business Administration and now works in an Administrative/Logistics Coordination role. Kiana is an invaluable member of the team, the glue that keeps the back end of the business functioning each day.
“I love how no day is the same and I am always inspired by the values of Soft Landing, knowing it does make a difference to people’s lives”
